Hand grips compatibility

I wish to upgrade to Rizoma Sport "universal" grips. Anyone knows what is the Forza handbar diameter ?

They take the 3/4 inch grips if you order from a US supplier. I'm not how Rizoma sells them in Italy, but almost all European and Asian bikes use that size. The other size is 1 inch, which is for Harley-Davidsons.

A lot of bikes use a 7/8 inch diameter bar (22 mm). I will measure mine later.

They are measured at 7/8 or 22 mm. No idea where you got 3/4 from?

they are 7/8 ins. I think thats a standard size for handlebars. You will find when you remove the Forza grips that there are ridges on the remaining bar which I needed to file off before being able to fit my Datatool heated grips. No big deal but not expected and a bit of a faff.

Confirmed. Sorry about the confusion. When you get them you'll notice that one has a slightly larger diameter than the other. The larger one goes on the twistgrip side, your right-hand side.

I tried to change grips on my previous DR650. It was very difficult to get the old factory grips off. I used a knife and a grinder which made a huge mess.

Getting the new grips on was not pretty also. They were tight and the glue went everywhere. The DR650 had bar ends so I had to cut off the end of the new grips. It was not pretty. The replacement soft grips did not last very long. I will stick with my factory grips for now.

Your results may be better than my mess.

grips will all of course be different...but I didnt need to use any glue with the Datatool...even although was provided...just worked them on with effort and some WD40 and they havent moved..didnt notice any size difference but there again because heated grips it was obvious which grip went on which side.The Datatool grips are fairly big/wide but that suits me as I dont like small narrow grips.
As I said the biggest unexpected "faff" was filing of the ridges once old grips cut off.

Same here. I just used a sharp knife for the ridhes. Faff is right. That was about it
