DC outlet limited to 1amp?

So I just purchased a 2018 PCX150 and I want to power my phone through the DC outlet. This seems like something most folks do or have done and we all know most newer phones need 2.1-2.4 amps to charge and run a GPS app.

If I plug a 2.4 amp usb plug, does the outlet limit it to 1 amp? Is my only option to run another outlet hardwired to the battery?

On my 2016 pcx it is indeed limited to 1 amp, I bought a small air pump and decided to run it through this outlet (turning the pump on without anything to inflate). It worked fine untill I wanted to inflate a tire with it. It draws around 2 amps and the fuse blew - lucky for me the people at honda were nice enough to put some spare fuses above the battery box where all the fuses are. So lesson learned and now I just run it straight from the battery so at least no fuse can break.

I did however run my phone charger on this before without a problem even though it states it provides 1.5 amps...
So I guess you can try but if it really draws more then 1 amp the fuse will blow...

Strange, as I thought the fuse feeding the DC outlet socket was 5A's not 1A (it is in my PCX, 15 model LED version).
I wanted to use the DC outlet to feed my portable air pump, claimed 6A max draw, but with a 5A fuse did not seem ideal, and then I realised the bike needed to be running so now go with a direct battery connection.
Many portable air-pumps draw more than 5A's so not surprised it blew the 5A fuse.

Since i have a Battery Tender for my bike, i have the leads to it permanently connected to the battery. There is a USB adaptor that you can buy for those leads. I use it whenever I am going to charge any of my devices or run my GPS. The leads have an inline fuse, so no problem. Use the built In Outlet for smaller things.

You Sir are right, my mistake I just checked and the fuse is indeed 5A. I must have mistakenly thought it was 1A since it says max output 12W, 12V at 1A at the DC outlet. The fuse however is 5A as you say.
I blame it on the lack of light when I changed the fuse. I also checked this air pump and it says it can draw maximum 10A - so no surprise the fuse blew.
