Helmet colors?
Kind of an informal poll, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post or not?
I want to buy and then immediately resell a helmet.
Which of these two color schemes do you think will be easier to resell?

Re: Helmet colors?
Not always easy to resell helmets, people usually want to try them on first.
Neither are particularly attractive, ye canny beat plain white

Re: Helmet colors?
Bell Helmets are easy to flip? Never knew that. I would think its much easier to sell the black white red one.
I have flipped used Givi top cases before but helmets are a different game. If its used forget it. Hope to get anything for it.

Re: Helmet colors?
Not really trying to flip it. I'll actually be selling it at a loss, but it will be an overall gain for me in the end.
It will be New-In-Box and never worn, so I'm going to ask about 65% of the current new price just to move it.
Unfortunately, those are the only two color choices for the most common head size. (Thanks for the color vote 87112)

Re: Helmet colors?
My personal choice is red, white & black. No other reason than I like that combination, but believe it would be most popular..

Both clever and informative!Decided to dress up my Arai helmet a bit.

It will make drivers pause for concern. . ."Intensive Care Unit" or "I See You".
It sort of gets the cards out on the table. . ..

Re: Helmet colors?
I did something similar to my hi-viz helmet by placing a strip of red reflective tape on the back of it. I also added red reflective tape triangles to the back of my top box.

Re: Helmet colors?
Did you buy the triangles already made? I see that some of you have the European police and safety tape on your bikes. Good way to be noticed. I have to wonder how effective that would be in the United States. Drivers are blind here.

Re: Helmet colors?
No, I cut them out of a 2" wide roll of reflective tape. The Shad box has two flat areas flanking the release latch. These are at a good angle for reflecting back at drivers, so I put tape on them. :-) They're pretty small (1"x1-1/2") but they're two more bright spots on my behind.
I might also add tape to the rim of the topbox platform. That will wrap around the back and both sides for better visibility. The rim is 1/2" wide, so the tape will need to be 3/8". But again, it's another bright red stripe.

Re: Helmet colors?
Eiron ,
My preference would be the White /Black /Red helmet. Think having a lot of pattern on a helmet is a personal thing, you might want to do the colour coordinate thing!! Sold a few helmets myself but they have been plain Black - Silver and White. Think any helmet will sell over time, try and sell when the biking season starts, good luck.

Re: Helmet colors?
Thanks Docscooter2010, I ended up buying the w/b/r helmet to resell. It had the Transitions visor that I wanted, but the visor alone was $139 and this helmet was clearanced for $129 (with the Transitions visor!).
I was able to sell the helmet in about two weeks for $60 with my clear visor advertised on it.

Re: Helmet colors?
It was your recommendation that motivated me to get one.
And I recently saw a vendor offering just the visor for around $90, too!
My realization from all of this is that I bought my helmet at the wrong time of year. When I bought my Qualifier ($110) the "Deluxe" version with better design/features and a Transitions visor was about twice as expensive. Only three months later the "Deluxe" helmets had dropped to nearly the same price as the "standard" model that I had bought!!

Re: Helmet colors?
Don't want to sound thick , but is a Transition visor one that goes dark when the sunlight hits it , as you would see in spectical s . Never seen one before but they sound good . My Helmet has a drop down internal tinted visor , Makes you look like an F16 fighter pilot .

Re: Helmet colors?
Yes, exactly.
Your internal visor sounds like a great idea! (My helmet wouldn't retrofit one of those.) Does it reduce internal cooling airflow when it's retracted?

Re: Helmet colors?
Eiron , The helmet I have at the moment is made by Shox , the drop down visor is good when its warm but does tend to fog in cooler weather but I crack the main visor and use anti fog spray . I think Duchinni do the drop down visor as well , I've had a couple of them over the years .Not sure if they keep you any cooler but may be better than wearing sunglasses while riding
