Standard PCX exhaust, rust at 700 miles?
thats right, I'm seeing patches of rust coming through ALREADY, despite only doing 700 miles on the bike.. i do use the bike in the rain, but i do clean my scooter often. its not been cold enough here for salt to be spread on the roads, therefor can only assume the standard pcx exhaust isn't the res...

No experience with there variator a in the slightest, all I know is they cost a fair bit.

The Exhaust Thread.
I thought it would be an idea to start this thread, after doing extensive research, i have seen putting the right pipe on the honda pcx is improving the performance quiet abit. I have seen on various other sites, forums youtube etc, people are squeezing extra hp from the pcx engine taking it from 11...

higher octane for higher compression to avoid pre detonation, won't make a single bit of difference in a PCX

Re: buy pcx 2014 or wait for forza 125
4000 for a 125 scooter isn't really an amazing selling point, and take the meaning away from cheap motoring..
the CBR125, yes its a bike but still its one hell of a motorcycle, sits comfortable at 70mph, and still only retails at £3599 (UK)
they should have kept the forza 300cc >

Re: Hello! Hopeful new owner of a 2013 150!
The mileage is a bit concerning. Basically, multiply whatever miles a motorcycle has by 4 and you get it's equivalent in car miles. Because basically, a motorcycle that makes it to 50k is an anomaly. And going past 60k is a miracle! Sure, you have the odd story of people getting 100k out of a bike,...

Re: Hello! Hopeful new owner of a 2013 150!
Welcome to the forum. Being front the uk, I can't comment on the price sorry, but what I will say is 11k miles is still very low for a modern day 125, understand that these will happily travel upwards of 75k miles if looked after properly. I would take a look at the bikes service book, and see what ...

Re: Acceptable Top End Speed when running in??
You will also hear 'ring seal' heared all over. What people don't realise is ring seal is done withinf the first few miles of a new engine running and engines need load to encourage the rings outwards.. But again rings are so precisely made and the fine honeing means ring seal is almost already very...

Re: Acceptable Top End Speed when running in??
ok I'm going to be blunt! now in 2014, engines are so precisely made there isn't to much of a need for a run in of 10-20 years ago, Hone marks in the inside of a new cylinder now are so fine you almost cant see them on factory fitted cylinder (aftermarket may obviously be different) these engines ar...

Re: Got my new 2015MY PCX 125 today!
I myself nearly had an off in the wet on my 2015 pcx, from experience the standard Irc tyres are really really good in the dry, but in the wet I feel it's a whole new world! Having ridden scooters for many years I feel qualified to say these tyres are nothing but dangerous at time in the wet and alw...

Re: My first 500 miles...
Of course, you are absolutely right. They have balanced off power for economy and IMO they were right to do so. The PCX is aimed at the local commuter or urban/leisure user and the power and speed is more than enough. One could theoretically adjust it back the other way but I personally would never...

Re: My first 500 miles...
To me the engine was fairly under tuned by honda to gain it's massive mpg which is obviously the selling point of this scooter, I also believe it was under geared.

Re: My first 500 miles...
I suppose your both right, all I was trying to get across is I have a massive history with engines big and small, and it seems honda have really toned this one down, personally if honda wanted to I think they could have easily had this engine run the full learner legal 15hp, with a 65mph cruise spee...

My first 500 miles...
What an adventure... This bike really is something else! Coming from the likes of 70cc kitted 50's the 125 has a lot of power compared to other 125 scooters I have ridden. The bike still reaches 65mph and in no time at all, but what I found surprising is how it will cruise at 60mph all day long, and...
