Re: Honda CTX700D and CTX700A Our other bikes
I have done that kind of braking a time or two. A friend and coworker has a black CTX700N. He likes it but I don't like riding feet forward. I just wish Honda would have brought in the NC700S{the roadster version - we get the adventure version NC700X}. http://i0.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-co...

Re: Forza rear tire get hot
Tires do get hot especially in hot weather and/or ridden hard. Scooter tires are smaller than motorcycle tires and thus rotate more times at a given speed so they do tend to get a bit hotter. Also the exhaust pipe is right next to the tire which adds heat. After a good ride you shouldn't be able to ...

Re: Honda unveils $184,000 motorcycle
WHY? Except for racing on the track there is no place to fully ride it. Even then very few average guys have the skills to handle it. I bet Honda has a long legal disclaimer form you have to sign when you buy one!
I think this is Honda one upping Kawasaki. In response to Kawasaki's H2R.

Re: tmax
As an owner of a Burgman 400 it can certainly do those speeds, but just{90mph is top on stock rollers - sliders have been reported to give an extra 5mph}. However, if you are going to spend what Yamaha wants for the T-Max might as well get a Burgman 650 and be more comfortable and have more storage{...

Re: Took my first spill today
What a hell of a day. Glad to hear you survived with no injury - gear works! I agree with others that it isn't really worth an insurance claim but that is your call. A couple of months after I started riding I tried to make it through a snow storm. It was light at first but then started coming down...

Re: New GoPro
It is a video camera and can be used to record anything. Granted the extreme wide-angle lens will be a problem for some things but you can crop in and correct for a lot of that with software. A go-pro mounted on a vest/chest harness would give a POV perspective, great for a how-to repair tutorial! P...

Re: Sure looks like a FORZA -sad business
Sad indeed. Many people{pedestrians and riders alike} simply don't think let alone look. Hard to put the blame totally on either person and most likely both were partially to blame. I would hate to have to think about the mental strain of having accidentally killing someone. What's the speed limit i...

Re: How do I prevent getting blown about in winds?
Are we talking head winds or side winds? A windshield will help a lot with head winds but will have little effect with side winds{some say it makes them worse}. Scooters suffer badly from side wind buffeting because of how much side surface there is and the light weight. As for dealing with side win...

Re: My exhaust is rusty. Ideas?
So you know the VHT flameproof has to be baked on. They give two methods, oven and exhaust heat. The oven method works better but does make a smell and some people fear food contamination.
Most manufactures use some sort of baked on coating although it may not contain ceramic.

Re: My exhaust is rusty. Ideas?
For an exhaust you need exhaust paint! High temp paint might work for a BBQ but the temps are much higher on an exhaust. The only rattlecan paint I have had any luck with on exhausts is VHT Flameproof. http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/flameproof/ Sperex is the head corporation that owns VHT so the s...

Re: Kickstarter. Why isn't it stock on our bikes?
Because this is the 21st century. Cars gave up on hand cranks in the 1930s. The question maybe should be why did it take so long for kickers to stop being fitted to bikes.Branyers wrote:Kickstarter. Why isn't it stock on our bikes?

Re: U.S. only Mod
Of coarse you could have done a JDM conversion by putting the turn signals back to where they were designed to be. The part you painted black was where the turns are for the rest of the world. This isn't the only scoot to suffer from the crazy DOT turn signal rules. The new Yamaha SMax is just as ba...
