Re: Use Your Bike (at least occasionally....)
The top bearing seemed worse than the bottom. As you can see by the surrounding rust, there was not a lot of grease around.

Re: Use Your Bike (at least occasionally....)
Hi Springer,
The bike spent most of the last 18 months in the back garden here in the UK, but always covered by an Oxford Aquatex cover

Use Your Bike (at least occasionally....)
Hi Guys, Long time since I posted on here, mainly because I haven't been riding my PCX for various reasons. But to be fair, I could have taken it out for a run now & then but didn't. As a result I took it for an MOT a couple of weeks ago. The wizened mechanic said to me, 'you haven't been riding...

Can't find my kickstart.....
Hi Guys, Weather has turned for the worse here in the UK. Been using my car recently, lugging bits to work & back for a car engine rebuild, bike has sat for a week. Went to start it last night.....no chance. A couple of weak splutters but not enough oomph to spin it over. Proper Yuasa battery to...

Re: Thieving Scum
Hi Mel, The attempted theft took place at 5am, it was bright daylight here. The area is lit at night too, but I have let what were small shrubs grow into 4 to 6ft trees which provide great cover for thieves. All the same, it was clearly planned, it's a closed street in a nice area, Scumbag Opportuni...

Re: Thieving Scum
Thanks White Noise, My Lad has bought me a nice disc lock / alarm (Xena) which does much the same thing. I've also fitted a chunky 'Mammoth' lock & chain round the swingarm via a wall anchor. Perhaps equally importantly I've started digging out the small trees which were an ideal cover for the T...

Re: Thieving Scum
Anyway thanks for the advice (there was a little!), I've decided to go for the large & visible security route with an added alarm. I've had issue with thieving scum before, but as I now live in a nice area I'd gotten used to casually parking my bike, not locking my car, leaving the house alarm o...

Thieving Scum
Well 04:50 this morning my lad hears something outside. Looks out the window & there's a bloke sitting on my bike, who then calmly gets off and immediately does a runner, he does not look up or around. The steering lock is smashed. This is in a quiet Close, very early in the morning. Most Scum i...

Sorry to hear that Dog, if you've been off three months it was pretty bad.
Hope you're bearing up well & get back on the road soon.
I think you're right on the money there Sendler, driver education is poor, if they were made to ride mopeds they'd understand a little more.

Re: Performance Exhaust
Ha ha, wiggle room! Spot on description! It's exactly that, there isn't a lot so it will fit on the original bracket but boy is it under a lot of strain. Anyway, it's on with a home made bracket, working a treat, looking & sounding good if anyone else fancies one. Oh yeah, it's 'E' marked ...

Re: Performance Exhaust
Incidentally Pedparts price is very keen compared to the rest of the interweb!
http://www.pedparts.co.uk/product/2809/ ... -pcx-125cc
Is that because they don't quite fit???

Re: Performance Exhaust
Hi Waspmike,
Yeah just checked the box & Pedparts site, it is indeed the correct exhaust for the esp 125, in fact this is the only model covered according to the Tecnigas site.

Re: Performance Exhaust
I made this mount up out of a piece of scrap then drilled the silencer holes in situ.
Not that pretty but effective.
I may knock something nicer up when a piece of ally plate comes my way.

Re: Performance Exhaust
Just a quick photo I took at the time of fitting.
It shows where the exhaust sat without strain at the joint. It could have been forced into line but the bottom mount was then way off too. Also if I had redrilled the two top mounts in the position shown, the bottom mount was below the mounting plate.

Also if it's that worn it's cupped, it probably handles horribly!

Re: Performance Exhaust
Yeah Tomtom, I agree, the exhaust is great but the bracket simply didn't fit.... or rather the bracket fits perfectly and is very well finished. I would suggest the header pipe angle is too shallow where it comes up to meet the silencer.Bear in mind this is stainless so you ain't gonna bend it witho...

Re: Performance Exhaust
The pipe looks good, I consider it good value for money, sounds good but not too loud & does boost performance. I suspect it raises the power output slightly (no cat), but probably raises the power torque curve too, so loosing some bottom end. Although acceleration times are the same as before o...
