Re: Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse
WhiteNoise, thanks for explaining the "Outbox" and "Sent messages" folders in the PM. Apologies to all those who have received multiple copies of the same message from me when I've been PM-ing with you. Also, thanks to both you and Mel46 (via PM) for the informative pictures and ...

"Although I understand, I think, the purpose of the Battery Tender Jr., I don't expect my PCX to ever be garaged or stored for any length of time considering I don't get snowy winter in my part of California." The Battery Tender Jr comes in handy for multiple things other than just keepin...

Re: Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse
I think for now I'll order an alligator clip-to-female cigarette adaptor to connect the inflator directly to the battery. Although I understand, I think, the purpose of the Battery Tender Jr., I don't expect my PCX to ever be garaged or stored for any length of time considering I don't get snowy win...

Re: Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse
That's the one I bought. I just checked the fuse I installed on the aftermarket accessory socket and I have a 20 amp fuse. I think I tested it with a cigaret lighter and it held up fine, when I installed it that is. Gil Perhaps your aftermarket accessory socket is more robust than my 2017 stock soc...

Re: Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse
It's just drawn more than 5 amps and the fuse has blown 5 amps is very conservative. I'd be tempted to go to 10amps and try again keeping a close eye on things when using the pump. I'd be wary to replace with a higher amp fuse than what is recommended since Honda most likely used a 5A fuse for a re...

Re: Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse
Thanks for sharing, as I bought one of those small slime air pumps. I got the $20 dollar one though. Which one do you have? I got a flat today and I was outside of town, barely made it to a gas station to patch my tire. I had just bought a tire plug kit, but no inflator kit. Now I have a pump and a...

Re: Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse
Sounds like I should forgo using the 12V accessory socket for the inflator and just connect directly to the battery.
I may return my current Slime Inflator and replace it with the one that comes with multiple types of connectors.

Re: Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse
It has the 12V "cigarette lighter" power cord, so I figured I was good to go. I'm assuming the inflator was drawing more amps than the PCX could put out.fish wrote:No electrical whizz myself.....
But isn't it best to connect directly to battery posts?

Tire Inflator Blew My 5A Fuse
Electrical is not my forte. I plugged a Slime Tire Inflator (12V power with 15A fuse 300cm) into my accessory socket to inflate my tires. I was able to run the inflator for about 40 seconds on the rear tire before I shut it off to check the tire pressure with a pencil gauge. When I tried to turn on ...

Re: Gas tank fill up
Pardon the slight topic deviation, but has anyone found out how many miles (or kilometers) the PCX will go after the last fuel gauge bar starts blinking, if using in the city (not highway)? I have 2017 PCX with a 2.1-gallon tank (7.9 liters). My last bar just started blinking at 202.4 miles on the t...

Re: Briefly Considered a Motorcycle
Well I think it is great to ride either a scooter or a motorcycle. However, I have found my PCX to be far more practical in town, and far less likely to get the attention of the police. ...and if you think that it is only good for intown use, put a good seat on it or a gel pad, replace the shocks w...

Re: Briefly Considered a Motorcycle
Spent 4.5 hours on the blacktop yesterday, while wearing full motorcycle gear, in 106-degree Fahrenheit while completing the Motorcycle course. By the end of the afternoon, I had drank about 3L of water but still felt like I had dropped 10 lbs from sweating. Thankfully I passed the course and will r...

Re: Briefly Considered a Motorcycle
I know, I know, poor me, I live in a temperate climate with just one deluge of rain (last year) in the last 15 years. I'm a soft Californian compared to the other regions of the country and those in the UK. Every day, hot or cold, I wear waterproof motorcycle sneakers, motorcycle jeans with knee arm...

Re: Briefly Considered a Motorcycle
A second bike is not in the cards as my family and I sold my car in exchange for the PCX in order to save on gas, maintenance, and insurance expenditures. Since my daily roundtrip commute is between 8-12 miles, depending on how scenic I want it to be, the PCX has been perfect. Now I just have to inv...

Briefly Considered a Motorcycle
I took the first half of the California Motorcyclist Safety Program this past Saturday to work toward my M1 endorsement and eventually reduce my insurance rate on the PCX. Admittedly, while weaving through the cones on the course, I briefly entertained thought of selling the beloved PCX for a Kawasa...

Welcome to the club! We have the same model year and windscreen. Honestly, I'm having trouble noticing a discernible difference between the stock windscreen and the medium National Cycle. If anything, I feel like the wind noise in my helmet has increased since switching to the National Cycle. Maybe ...

Re: Rain Repellant for Windscreen and Visor
Rain-X was all the rage for a while, but it streaks after a time. The latest tech is a silica infused products like Carpro RELOAD, put it on like Windex. Works for about three months. Use it on the whole bike, dirt just flies off. This amount will last you 5 years: http://www.autogeek.net/cquartz-r...

Mel46, does the Novus #1 help with visibility when it's raining? Looks like it's billed primarily as a cleaner.

Rain Repellant for Windscreen and Visor
It's beginning to drizzle on me in the morning as I commute my 15 minutes to work on city streets. Water is accumulating on my National Cycle Windscreen and my Transitions visor on my helmet. Any recommendations for products that help bead and move the water off? I've read that Rain X might be a via...
