Re: honda pcx standard tyre lifespan
I'm at 10,500 miles, and the original front tyre still has a good few thousand miles left. I changed the rear at around 5000 miles to Michelin, and there is probably at least another 3000 miles left in it. In terms of road-holding I could not really distinguish between the original tyres and the Mic...

But please let me in on the secret - how do I enter a web link? I used the [URL] tab .....but obviously incorrectly!

Re: Have you seen this 13000 km tour of South America?
Yes it is very impressive, especially as he was mostly camping (though the scoot doesn't seem to be carrying too much gear).
I think he speaks Portuguese, rather than Spanish as I said.
It definitely shows the scope of our little bikes doesn't it?!!!

Have you seen this 13000 km tour of South America?
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I've just discovered a YouTube video of a chap who travelled 13000 km around South America on his PCX. His trip took 24 days at an amazing average of 539 km per day! As well as the video he has a website for his journey (all in Spanish) with some great...

Re: Who uses GPS/Earphones?
Just to add my experiences with satnav devices ..... I've found my Nokia phone with ovimaps to be the most useful for me. The phone slips into a pocket and gives clear instructions. I use ear buds that pop into your ear, rather than the earphones that just hang on your inner lobe. The ear buds shoul...

Re: MOT's ??
I was shocked to see my exhaust was pretty rusty after riding through the winter (2012 model 10,000 miles) but removing it, rubbing it down with coarse grit and spraying it, it looks as good as new. You might want to try this if you are worried about the MOT.

Re: 2013 pcx150 body material????
While we're waiting for someone to come along and state what the actual plastic is, I would say that I use a regular car polish/wax on my panels APART from the matte/textured ones as you said. Also I leave the screen alone too (aside from washing it). You won't do any harm to the matte/textured pane...

Re: R&G Sliders
Wow £70 for these?!!! But I suppose the cost of replacement panels here in the UK, makes them worthwhile. I think you are right though, about the upper fairings needing protection too. When my bike fell off the side stand when cleaning it (doh!) It wats scratched on the upper edges of the large fron...

Re: Came off bike :(
My advice would be NOT to give up on winter riding! I know it's a shock to come off, but if you continue to ride all year round it will make you a better rider. The roads have been very greasy lately as gn2 said, and panic braking will only make it worse. I don't know how much experience you have, b...

Re: New member old head
Check with your local dealer on the plastics. They are much cheaper than you'd expect. Not in the UK they're not!! Side fairing panels are about £95 here, but I see you can get them for around £30 in the States. :x Still, glad you're not hurt SteveB. Whatever it costs, bikes can be fixed, but human...

Re: PCX 125/150 manuals - not english but different
Yep, I've seen these before. I believe the training one is in Thai and may be a training manual for factory workers actually working in the Honda factory. It would certainly explain why some of the principles of electromagnetism are explained
!
The diagrams are useful though!

Re: enhanced rider
I had to look up what the Enhanced Rider Scheme was, as I hadn't heard of it before. Any extra training you get after passing your test is beneficial, and will give you a bit more confidence. So well done! But as gn2 says - it won't prevent some idiot from pulling out on you. Further training may ma...

Re: Average fuel consumption
Hmmm. Your mpg figures are interesting. Nobody else has replied so i'm guessing they might be confused by the numbers you quote in your post. I originally assumed that you meant km per litre, but when i checked your fuelly data you have mpg. And mighty high mpg as well!!!! I have a pcx125 and get 12...

Looks good.
Have you had any problems with vibration on the DVR?
Have you posted any clips to Youtube etc? It would be good to see some clips, when you can!

New Brake Levers? Be Careful!
Hi. Just a quick word of warning if you intend replacing your standard brake levers with adjustable ones from ebay. This seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-Pair-CNC-Brake-Clutch-Levers-Honda-PCX125-PCX150-JF28-KF12-/360729245457?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item53fd237711 has sent me the wrong...

First Tour of the Year!
Hi Everyone. Well for some of us, the winter is over and the first signs of Spring are well and truly here. Primroses are blooming on the hedgebanks and the first cherry blossom is starting to appear. And the first glorious days of sunshine have arrived ...... Just in time for me to enjoy a few days...

Re: brought out of hibernation
Glad to hear you are back on the road. I've used mine right through the (mild) winter to commute to work, but am thoroughly sick of cleaning it :x But today, I had my first 'recreational' ride of the year with another scooter chap. We rode up through Somerset to Cheddar Gorge. The sun was shining an...

Welcome Frederic!
I have enjoyed several holidays on a motorbike in your beautiful country (but not on a PCX yet). Great roads, lovely villages and wonderful sunshine.
Hope you enjoy the new scooter. It is a very clever design and very comfortable even on long journeys.
Tom.

Re: Just had an accident
Hi Henry (?) The main thing is that you are okay, even if the scoot isn't. Replacement panels will make the PCX as good as new, so don't worry. I appreciate that at the moment your mind is on getting the bike fixed and back on the road, but have a think about whether there was anything you could hav...
