Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
Just a update to mine. After the first service and with a new phone i did a top speed test again.
Speedo shows some where between 65 and 66. GPS Shows a max speed reached of 61.51MPH

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
After the first service I have not got over 59.8 which is 2 mph less than before the first service was done. I wonder if adjusting valves did this?

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
I managed to borrow my mates Garmin GPS this morning and went out for a quick run.
Speedo Readings - Garmin Readings
Flat ground - 66mph - 62.5mph
Incline -56mph - 53mph
Downhill - 66mph - 62.5mph
It's worth noting that both on the flat and downhill the limiter kicked in and you could feel the engine being reined in and the revs cutting out for a split second.
But as that's whats the PCX is designed to do I'm perfectly happy

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
Just had mine up to 110 km/h (69mph). Stock except for Ermax +25 windscreen and smaller mirrors. Before with the stock windscreen I got it up to 95 (59) but didnt like the wind buffeting. But Im used to bikes with windscreens. My bike has done 900 km (560 miles) so just broken in (going slowly) and going in for 1st service soon. Ive added the MPH conversions in brackets using 5/8 as my speedo only shows km/h. The windscreen really reduces drag at high speed and Im 6' 4" and 110kg so no lightweight!

was this the speedo reading or gps?Taz wrote:Just had mine up to 110 km/h (69mph). Stock except for Ermax +25 windscreen and smaller mirrors. and if its gps, i wonder whats different about Australian bike, no limiter?
Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
As mine has got older it has got slower, down 5mph indicated.
Now won't indicate more than 62mph before the limiter kicks in.
Mileage is 7500, I suspect the culprit is drive belt/roller wear.
Still does 100mpg though so no point doing anything about it just yet.

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
no it was the speedo, wasnt planning on a speed test. Just glanced down. Wont say what the speed limit there was....
Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
Same here, but I think it has had a bit of an impact on my mpg because I often ride at an indicated ~55 mph.gn2 wrote:As mine has got older it has got slower, down 5mph indicated.

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
I ride at a steady 55mph indicated for roughly 50 miles out of 54 every day and still get 100(ish) mpg.

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
Took mine in for its 7500 mile service today and got a brand new pcx to use while mine was being done. The new one only had 130 miles on the clock so not run in, but it couldn't get to it's rev limiter
I only tried to get up to max speed once, not wanting to hurt the engine, but it really struggled to get up to 60mph. I've got a tall screen on mine and I'm sure this must have a positive effect on performance and mpg.

I'll have to start checking my mpg again. I don't know how much roller weights and drive belts cost but petrol is going to be £1.45 a litre before too long so the maths might begin to favour replacements, as the scoots milage increases.gn2 wrote:As mine has got older it has got slower, down 5mph indicated.

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
Service schedule calls for replacement of the drivebelt at 15,000 miles.edscoot wrote:I don't know how much roller weights and drive belts cost but petrol is going to be £1.45 a litre before too long so the maths might begin to favour replacements, as the scoots milage increases.
Given the cost of it, you don't want to be replacing it before then.

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
My commute is very similar, with a bit more driving in town. I get about 100 Imp. MPG as well.gn2 wrote:I ride at a steady 55mph indicated for roughly 50 miles out of 54 every day and still get 100(ish) mpg.

Re: Honda PCX Top Speeds (mph)
127 km/h max with 120 km/h easily achievable anytime..getting 2.7l/100km and im not riding to save fuel..
