I lost the Nut for the Screw to hold in the battery!
So taking out my battery I believe i have lost something to hold in the battery! The Screws have no threads so it must be a nut? No idea. I think i lost it in the little Hole before the Battery haha.
What size are these or what am I missing!
Thank you so much!

Hmmm, i think you need to take a picture of what you have left. You said the screws have no threads, so i am a little confused. The positive and negative wires should each be attached to a piece of metal with a hole in it. It is easy enough to get to the area around the battery box, if you need to locate lost parts.

The next thread up is the parts catalog. You should be able to identify it from the diagrams.

(Note: Pay no attention to the wires in the forefront and to the far left. It is an add-on by me, a lead to connect my battery tender). Hope this helps

Re: I lost the Nut for the Screw to hold in the battery!
If you see the two screws that hold in the positive and negative metal plates onto the battery. To conduct the charge. I unscrewed those like you would to take out the battery. I go to place the battery back into the same spot. Now when I go to screw back in the Positive and Negative conductors it wont screw tight. So i might have droped a nut I don't know! lol Very frustrating thank you for the help!WhiteNoise wrote:Welcome to our forums! We need a bit more info. Please try to be more precise. I also have a 2015, so I will share this pic of my battery compartment. Does this help you explain your "missing hardware piece?"

lol just notice I did say that, What I meant was the metal plate which is screwed onto the battery to conduct the charge has no threads.

The square nuts slide into those connectors on the battery. They must have fallen out.

They are standard 5 or 6 mm. Not sure where you live but you can get them at Wal-Mart.

It has happened to me also. Now when I remove the battery I put the screw back in as soon as I unhook the cable so when I pull the battery out there is no chance for the nut to go flying off somewhere.

Re: I lost the Nut for the Screw to hold in the battery!
Worst part i went all over town. over 5 stores. From Home and depot kind of store and wal mart to Pep boys. Nothing. Have to wait till my bike shop opens and call them to see if they have any in stock. I know I can purchase online. Just I want it done tomorrow haha.
This happen because all of a sudden it didn't want to turn on. The bike. I took out the battery not knowing about the nuts and must of not heard them fall.
Go to put it back in and find out it dosn't screw in. Very frustrating. Don't even know what killed the battery in the first place. very wierd. only been driving it 3 months. Brand new!

Re: I lost the Nut for the Screw to hold in the battery!
That stinks. Every new cycle battery box has a little packet in it with the new bolts and nuts. The auto shop at Wal-Marts will have them laying around because they put them in all of the time.

Now that SECoda provided a picture, i understand what you need. In an emergency situation you can get a standard nut and bolt to TEMPORARILY hold the wires against the battery. However, this has to only be temporary because dissimilar metals cause problems over time when you are running electricity through them. Because every new battery comes with this kit that has what you need, you should be able to go to Walmart or some motorcycle repair shop and ask them if they have a spare set.

The Standard will not fit for the battery. I need the Square Nut.

Otherwise you need a grinder.
I have a drawer full of the old parts including ones from every time I change a battery on my ATVs. None of the battery stores had them?

How about your local cycle stores? They have parts and service departments. Mosey on in & make friends. Cycle shops love when you hang out. I do it. Talk it up, then ask for two of those pesty battery terminal pita nuts. Sounds like a plan to me

Any dedicated hardware store should have a section with bins of all kinds of nuts, bolts, and assorted small bits. You should be able to get just about any size small nut and bolt made out of anything you want. Steel, stainless, galvanized, aluminum, nylon, brass, you name it. The store near my house has one that looks just like this:
