125 ESP differences

Post by you you »

On the general theme of the bike differences... took my 125 ESP exhaust off to clean it and offered a new non esp gasket up. Much too small. Another different part.

I have no idea if all of the questions got answered. I have read this thread and gone to the link, and I am as confused as ever. First, on the belts, how can we tell which one is correct if there are multiple numbers for the same belt? The only way that I can be sure when I replace mine i to go to the Honda dealer and ask them to look up the correct one, and order it. I had to wait for it to arrive since it wasn't in stock.

Next, the variator. I have a 2013 Esp 150 and want to install an NCY variator and drive face. The one I have seen advertised, says it is for 125 and 150. It does not say for Esp or not. Sooooo....the question remains...are the variators for Esp the same as for non-Esp?
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Hey mel, yes variators are interchangeable but weights are set different for each model. There are 3 diff belt sizes, first gen 125 ( non esp) has the shortest belt, 125 esp has slightly longer belt and first gen 150 esp has the longest. Newest or latest model Pcx 150 has gone back down to 125 esp model belt size. I'm using esp model designated variator on my first gen Pcx in combination with esp 125 belt and have no issues, works really well..
Hope that helps instead look at part number thingy advice...

Commenting on facts, or just criticising me generally?

The only thing that's really different between models is the belt lengths and weight set per model ie 150 uses 15 or 18g depending of the belt size for the year of build, all else is the much the same.

Dear best-buyer,

Hi I have checked the parts catalog for pcx 125 from 2009 to 2014.
Also pcx 150 from 2012 to 2014 and they are the same part number/model number and batch number.. 19 grams per weight 20mm x 15mm . 22123-KWN-900
The pcx range share a lot of the same components, some components have been revised but will still fit early models.
I use a pcx 150 2012 model but use the 2015 weights ...22123-K36-TOO the same part number different model number and batch number because they are 15 grams each . The first number is the part number- the second reference to model-then batch.
Parts are revised all the time the first numbers are unique to a particular part.
There are a lot of models that share the same parts, its like lots of different bikes share the same tire's and there can be many different brands to fit the same bike.
I always try to cross reference as much as possible.
Than you
Mike
