Re: Looking into a PCX150 and I have a couple questions.
Probably miles-per-gallon-equivalent, or MPGe, for an electric car. Think the current highest gas-only is 52 MPG combined. A bicycle, which I rode to work today, is reported to be 732 MPGe.
Oh, and I never have had a passenger on mine. I take up too much of the weight capacity all by myself.

Selling my 2013 PCX
A great bike but am using the Silverwing even around town. Kept the PCX for my daughter to ride but as a new licence holder she prefers a cage.
Only 1465 miles. $1795. See a link to the Craigslist ad in this forum's for sale section or reply directly.

Re: How many of you actually RIDE in the RAIN?
I take the scooter with ABS (SW) when it rains. Regarding the rain itself, I wouldn't worry about water damage riding a Honda that's in good shape--but a British bike of a certain vintage, that's another story.

What kind of cars, eggman? 300k miles and only brake pads and oil--I want one of those. Personally, I haven't gone more than 50k without replacing tires, batteries, and all sundry of stuff. Haven't made it over 100k without even more expensive repairs. Had to put a new tranny in my Subaru at 80k, mo...

Re: She did it, Finally!!
Congrats to you and wife. Good on her getting back on the scooter! Sorry to hear about the $75k injury but glad she's feeling better. Didn't you say that you didn't have medical insurance at one point? Good idea on the mesh jacket--get all the armor you can. Even in the middle of a 100+ degree summe...

Re: servic
Nobody likely keeps service prices in his/her head so it's probably best just to look up a few dealers close enough that you would go to if the price were right and ask them what they charge. The price you quoted seems low, actually, compared to what I remember paying here in the US.

Most of us have an extended warranty--it's called health insurance! And if that doesn't work, there's always life insurance.relic wrote:extended warranty? did you get one when you were born? if not tell the salesperson no thank you.

Re: About to buy my first PCX. Any advice?
Speaking of used PCX150s, I may be selling my 2013 in Dallas. Daughter was going to ride it but got a car license before her motorcycle license and just wants to drive the car now. Only about 1200 miles. Perfect shape except hard-to-see surface scratches where my daughter dropped it (at stop) during...

Re: About to buy my first PCX. Any advice?
"Looking for the best OTD price" -Good way to do it. Some dealers will still try to low-ball you and add more fees when you arrive at the showroom. I don't have patience for that trick. To get the best price the dealer has to think you'll just walk away if you don't get the deal you want. ...

Re: recall notice - work already done
If a dealer did the recall, it's already in the system (you can bet the dealer did this--it's how he gets paid for the recall work).
Don't overthink things--ignore the card if you don't have the item recalled or already had the work done. I threw my card out.

It's a momentary switch to briefly flash the highbeam. I would use it a lot since I flash my highbeam at cars when I approach intersections. We've talked about that usage on here before. Lots of people flash highbeams as a way of saying "you go first." I avoid using a highbeam in that way...

At my rate of using it, my PCX won't hit 100,000 miles until some time in the 22nd century, more likely the 23rd.

Or, maybe not get it now. Sanctions and new duties lead to trade war. Trade war leads to loss of jobs. Loss of job leads to no money for new scooter just purchased. Hard to tell what will happen.

Similar experience as DNWJ, when I was a fire-fighter. Lights all over the fire engine, siren, air horn, lime green paint, reflective stripes galore, all on an unmistakable large multi-ton vehicle. Doesn't matter. There's always somebody not paying attention. And, my experience was before all the el...

Yikes. I wouldn't even drive a car that far every day. Had a 100-mile RT commute for 8 years. Took the train.
[Learned my lesson--finally. Current commute is 7 miles RT. Rode a bicycle yesterday and took the Silver Wing today. Yes, a Silver Wing is overkill for that commute.]
